At Ely St Mary’s Junior School we take the safeguarding of our children very seriously.  As such we have an in-depth Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy that can be viewed here on our Policies page, and a number of our staff and governors are trained in Safer Recruitment.

We ask that all visitors respect the content of our policy and inform a member of staff if they see or hear anything that they have a concern about regarding a child or group of children.

In the first instance concerns should be raised with any of our Designated Safeguarding Leads.

The letter below contains information about the means by which concerns in relation to safeguarding can be raised with Designated Safeguarding Leads during this period of school closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mrs Rebecca Ireland-Curtis

Headteacher, & Designated Safeguarding Lead

Miss Rachel Clarke

Deputy Headteacher, & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Dr Helen Atkinson

Pastoral Support Worker, and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Miss Madeline Hale

Head of Year 5, and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

In the absence of any of our Designated Safeguarding Leads, please refer your concerns to the most senior person within the year-group in which you are working; this person will take your concerns forward as appropriate.

All of the above-named may be contacted via the School Office.
